Premios Konex - Konex Awards Since 1980 and every 10 years the Fundación Konex (Konex Foundation) offers their awards in sport actitivities in Argentina. In 1980, the sportmen received awards for their life-time accomplishments. In 1990, 2000, 2010, and 2020, the accomplishments to receive awards represented the last ten year of activity. Several sports are chosen to be awarded, football is one of them. Diploma al Mérito (Certificate of Merit): The jury selects by voting five footballers who have the most outstanding careers. Mención Especial (Special Mention): The jury gives special mentions to those who have enough merit to be awarded, but the activity is not among those chosen. Konex de Platino (Platinum Konex): A new vote chooses among the five footballers to award him the Platinum Konex. Konex de Brillante (Diamond Konex): Among the 20 athletes who won the Platinum Konex, the jury selects the athlete of the decade. Konex de Honor (Konex of Honor): The jury chooses as "Konex of Honor" a deceased figure of outstanding relief.
