Notes: Sanon was considered the greatest Haitian footballer of all time. He scored
the team's only two goals at the 1974 FIFA World Cup in West Germany, where
he famously snapped Dino Zoff's record of 1,142 minutes without conceding a
goal against Italy.
The matches for the CONCACAF Cup in 1973 and 1977 also were World Cup Qualifiers.
Other matches are being investigated. The search for the first Haitian players
is very complicated, as many archives of the FA itself have disappeared as a
result of the earthquakes and civil unrest. However, its entire early history
is being reconstructed, thanks to different libraries around the world and
several journalists.
