The first ever women club match in Costa Rica took place on Mar 26, 1950, with the result:

The first ever women championship was played in the early sixties (precise year not known), between 5 clubs: Limón, Universidad de Costa Rica, Independiente, América and Puntarenas; it was won by Limón.
