Football Tournaments of the Summer Deaflympics


The first games were held in Paris in 1924 and were organized by Monsieur Eugène Rubens-Alcais, president of the French Deaf Sports Federation.
The games were known as the International Silent Games or World Games for the Deaf. They are ruled by Le Comité International des Sports des Sourds (The International Committee of Sports for the Deaf), ICSD or CISS.
The Deaflympics are sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee, IOC.
