The First Round - The Second Leg:

ASK Vorwärts Berlin were refused visas to enter the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland, and Linfield FC Belfast could not afford to travel to an
alternate venue, so ASK Vorwärts Berlin were given a bye into the next round after their
3–0 win in the first leg in Berlin.

The Glasgow Rangers FC vs. ASK Vorwärts Berlin tie scheduled to be played at
Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow was finally staged at the Malmö Stadion in Malmö (Sweden).
The East German side having again been refused visas to enter the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The original match in Malmö was abandoned due
to heavy fog (Glasgow Rangers FC were leading 1-0 after the first half) and
the match was replayed the following morning.
