Oceania U-20 World Cup 2003 Qualifiers

Overview

Two groups in a round robin competition played at two different
venues. The group winners will play each other home and away to find
the OFC representative at the 2003 FIFA World Under 20 Championships
in the United Arab Emirates.

It was agreed that the Australia and New Zealand would be seeded.

Solomon Islands, Tahiti and American Samoa withdrew from Group B.
To compensate for this, Samoa and Tonga have been moved from
Group A to Group B.

Cook Islands withdrew in the last minute, reducing Group A to three
teams. Several alternatives were considered, including moving a team
from Group B over the Group A. However, it was not possible for teams
to change their travel arrangements at this late stage.
