Clubs Divizia Națională 1932/33

The 1932/33 was the first in which a national league (Divizia Națională) was to be played.
It was to comprise 16 clubs, divided over two groups. The leagues of București, Arad,
Banat, Cluj and Oradea each had two representatives (the top-2 of the 1931/32 season);
in addition the leagues of Prahova, Brașov, Mureș and Sibiu obtained one representative
(the 1931/32 champions, except for Brașov where runners-up Brașovia were selected instead
of champions I.A.R., presumably because of their record in previous seasons); one spot
was given to Ripensia Timișoara, the first professional club in Romania, which had been
founded on 21 Oct 1928 but had never entered the regional league, while the Biroul Federal
was to choose the 16th and last club between Unirea Tricolor București (third in the local
league 1931/32) and Maccabi Cernăuți (winners of the Liga de Est).

On Jun 19, 1932, the following two series were drawn:

Seria I

Ripensia Timișoara
U.D. Reșița
Tricolor Ploiești
Gloria C.F.R. Arad
C.F.R. București
Șoimii Sibiu
România Cluj
Crișana Oradea

Seria a II-a

C.A. Oradea
A.M.E.F. Arad
Venus București
Mureșul Târgu Mureș
Brașovia Brașov
Universitatea Cluj
R.G.M. Timișoara
Unirea Tricolor București or Maccabi Cernăuți

Note that the five leagues with two representatives had one in each series.

On Jul 12, the Biroul Federal awarded the 16th spot to Unirea Tricolor București.

On Aug 9, the Comisia Campionatului Național was notified of the withdrawal of U.D. Reșița
(champions 1930/31 and runners-up 1931/32) for financial reasons and Mureșul Târgu Mureș,
who failed to confirm their participation, so that the 1932/33 season was played with two
groups of seven teams each.
