The second American Soccer League established a New England-based
division which operated between 1933 and 1941. During this time,
the established teams of the league (based in New york-New Jersey-Philadelphia)
played in the Metropolitan Division. The New England Division folded
during the War and was briefly reestablished in 1951-1953. Little is
known about the divisions, and the second incarnation was borderline at
best. Many thanks to Mark Pollak (mpollak@counsel.com) for providing
this information, which he gathered from various editions of the USSFA
annual media guides and the Providence Journal, and the 1951-1953
information was gathered from editions of the North American Soccer Guide.
Point scoring system: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss.
