NB: start originally scheduled for Mar 8, 1971, but postponed to Jun 12 because of 
    incessant rain;
    however, Abaluhya, Gor Mahia and Kenya Breweries all withdrew

NB: matches cancelled at last moment; new start announced Aug 1971; by the
    end of August two rounds had been played, with Harambee Maseno winning
    both its matches and Mwenge FC losing both; 
    league suspended because of Challenge Cup;
    restart announced for Dec 19, but this did not happen and on Jan 1, 1971,
    the league was abandoned.
