[*] Selangor MPPJ were the first club team to reach the final and Darul Ta'zim FC
    the first to win it; all other clubs above were representative sides of the
    regional FAs or military teams (the 1949 and 1966 losing finalists, both known
    as Tentera in Malay but different entities) until they were transformed into
    professional clubs (usually denoted by adding "FC" to the name) in the 21st
    century.


FA of Malaysia Cup

NB: the 1952 edition was the first; this competition was opened to club teams
    in the seventies: e.g. Penang Ramblers represented the Penang FA in the
    FAM Cup in 1977, losing to Selangor PKNS. 
    Since 2005 the tournament serves as third level championship.
