NB: Although Lise İdman Yurdu were Trabzon champions in 1924, they could not
participate in the championship as another tournament was held after the
conclusion of the provincial Trabzon League in order to decide the team
representing Trabzon. Trabzon İdman Ocağı won that tournament and
qualified for the Turkish Championship.
The 1924 edition of the Istanbul Football League was the first edition held by the Turkish Football Federation. Initially 24 clubs participated in the league, however when the TFF realised that the league would not conclude in time due to the Summer Olympics in Paris the same year, the league was cancelled half-way in March. In order to determine an Istanbul champion that would represent the city in the newly founded Turkish Football Championship, the federation organised a knock-out tournament with 18 teams that was held from 31 July to 22 August. All matches were played in Taksim Stadium. Beşiktaş won their first Istanbul League title and qualified for the 1924 Turkish Football Championship.

[*] the semifinal between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe was abandoned at 2-2 with one minute left
to full-time, following a controversial penalty decision in favor of Galatasaray by referee
Haçopolu Efendi. The last minute of the match was played four days later, on 19 August. The
match was resumed with the penalty kick. Since Fenerbahçe did not show (in protest to the
penalty decision), Galatasaray scored into the empty goal and won 3-2.
