[+] Gambia Ports Authority were established in 1973, taking the core
of its player base from Real de Banjul; around 1988/89, the club
ceased to exist and was replaced by Waterside FC, the club's feeder
team; in 1996(?), Falcons FC, which won the Banjul Nawettan, were
transformed to GPA FC, who gained promotion from the 3rd division
to the 2nd; they returned to the 1st level in or around 1997 and
won the league in 1998/99.
